Happy Children’s Book Day! At The Wonder Room, we believe that books are one of the most valuable gifts for a child, which will give them important supplies for life. That's why for the World Children's Book Day, we suggest some of our favorite books from our collection for children and parents.
Before we begin, it is worth mentioning the history of World Children's Book Day.
The International Book Council for Youth (IBBY) established World Children's Book Day in 1966, the birthday of the great Danish storyteller Hans Christian Andersen (April 2, 1805), to inspire children to love reading and provoke the attention of adults in the importance of childrens books.
In Greece, the World Children's Book Day has been supported since 1996 by the Greek Children and Adolescent Book Circle, the Greek section of IBBY, which promotes the day in a wide network of schools and school libraries throughout Greece, thus encouraging other organizations to organize events to celebrate World Children's Book Day.
Books are all about education. They contribute to the formation of personality, to the understanding of self, and to the control of the ego. The love for books knows no age.
At The Wonder Room we believe that the secret to loving reading undoubtedly starts at a young age. We believe that the right book can enhance childrens’ academic, emotional, and creative abilities. Research has shown that children aged 4–5 years to whom we read books on a daily basis are, on average, one year older in terms of ease of reading than children of the same age to whom we do not read as often.
Below you will find some book suggestions for all ages:
0-3 years old

History always has two sides. And literally in this book we read two sides of the same story. This cardboard book (suitable for very young children) unfolds the story of a boy who finds a duckling and plays with it. But, from the other side of the book, we have the opportunity to read the story from the side of the duck that the little boy found. A wonderful book that talks about friendship through a very simple narrative and an excellent illustration that comes to complement it perfectly.

A successful series for very young readers. Each story stimulates the curiosity of young readers and at the same time fills them with the necessary first knowledge of their environment. The durable construction of the books in the series makes them a favorite and absolutely suitable for these ages.
This particular story moves in the well-known structure of classic fairy tales, joy-obstacle-solution-happy ending.
4-7 years old

Although we classify it in this age group, the story deals with messages and emotions that concern a wider audience.
This story gives hope and courage that we all seek to overcome fears when things do not turn out the way we want. And as always after the rain comes the rainbow to give us the courage we seek to carry out the situations that overwhelm us, so the protagonist of our story, the lion with his few possessions begins his journey to find the courage again to find himself. With illustrations that refer to children's paintings and children's collages, this story speaks directly to our hearts.
Ένας Τοίχος Στη Μέση Του Βιβλίου
An excellent story both in terms of plot and illustration. With a wall literally rising in the middle of the book and separating two worlds so theoretically different. Nothing, however, is as it seems and when a brick falls from the wall, the truth comes to light. The narration is sharp, short, and comes out of the mouth of the protagonist, the little knight. The hero of the book, who gets the opportunity to challenge his given truth and examine it from another point of view, that of the so-called evil giant.
A children's story that reaches the limits of philosophy and destroys the absolute concepts of good and evil.
Μαμούν
The name "Mamun" is strange. Or maybe not; Nothing is strange if you think about it a little more! After all, why be suspicious about someone with a different face than you?
With amusing rhetoric that excites children, Mamun conveys messages that are important for diversity, rejection, friendship, and acceptance. The word of the text flows easily, while the illustration with bright colors stimulates the interest of the little readers since the drawings seem to spring from a children's drawing!
All of the above compose a wonderful book, unique and as simple as these concepts should just be in our lives.

A book that not only refers to all forms of family, but puts them all on the same "scale". The bold speech of the author through the simplicity of the text, conveys the important feeling of acceptance that all children and their families should have. Because everything is family. As long as there is love and security, care and joy. The illustration helps the narration extremely and opens that "suitcase" with the conversations about the emotions. Time to leave behind the classic standards imposed on us. In today's society there is no room for prejudices, marginalization and its author makes it clear.

An EXCELLENT book. A modern adaptation of the famous story "Little Red Riding Hood". From its pages spring thoughts, reflections, and an elegant illustration that comes to complete the storytelling.
Quests, doubt, fear, mistakes, new challenges, incomplete experiences, and finally the path of our own experience to reach the desired result, are the themes that emerge through this masterpiece of Marie Voigt.

One of the few guidebooks for children aged 18 months to 3 years. The book also contains a brief introduction to the Montessori method as well as some frequently asked questions. The Montessori method is based on the important principles of early childhood development, through which young children are shielded with basic life skills.
