Marie Palandjian-Raxevsky is the founder and the Creative Director of the Marie Raxevsky Beach Couture brand. It is a collection of swimwear, beachwear and accessories for families, moving forward the well-known Raxevsky brand to destinations full of sand, salt and waves.
In the midst of their high season (Marie and her team are preparing their Spring Summer 2022 collection as I am typing this) Marie got a couple of minutes to share with us snippets of how a working mum's daily life looks with five-year-old Alexandros and three-year-old Alice.
Could you describe to us a daily routine that combines Marie Raxevsky Beach Couture with family life?
My day starts around 07.05am when I wake up five-year-old Alexandros first and then three-year-old Alice. Sometimes the kids wake me up before the alarm rings! We get dressed, the kids have breakfast and then we walk to the bus stop to grab the school bus, which, thankfully enough, show up simultaneously. I’ll then head straight into the office as its high season now for us: we are working on the Spring - Summer 2022 collection. PM hours are exclusively ‘kids time’ filled in with strolls in the park, play dates, activities and then, eventually, dinner, bedtime story and sleep. During my free time I do yoga and running.
What piece of advice would you offer to other mothers or to yourself before becoming a mum?
Always listen to (and follow) your gut feeling. The secret for having happy children is to be a happy mother yourself. Happy mom, Happy family!
